Employee Wellbeing To A Healthy Organisation

The increasing globalisation of work environments has led to new challenges for Human Resource Management (HRM). Employee well-being is becoming an increasingly important aspect of HRM as organisations recognize the benefits of a healthy workforce. HRM practices such as,

~ Training and Development,

~ Performance Management, and

~ Rewards and Recognition Programs

Those can be significantly impacted on employee well-being. Moreover, organisational culture, leadership, and communication are also critical components of HRM that can contribute to employee well-being (Armstrong, 2012).

Most of the organization provide various employee wellness initiatives, such as a gym facility, flexible work arrangements, and counselling services along with regular training and development opportunities to employees to enhance their skills and knowledge. This HR initiatives in the organization help the employee highly motivated, committed, and satisfied with their work (Armstrong, 2012)

AMO framework by (Appelbaum et al., 2000) is a theoretical model that describes a set of HRM practices that can lead to high levels of employee performance and well-being. The model includes three components:

Ability (A),

Motivation (M),

Opportunity (O) and

Individual’s performance (P),

P=AMO (Mehta, 2022).

The model emphasizes the need for HRM practices to align with organizational goals and objectives to achieve high performance.

Best Practices

One of the best practices for promoting employee well-being is to provide a supportive and inclusive work environment. (Armstrong, 2012) shows that a positive work environment that values diversity, inclusion, and equity can significantly impact employee well-being. Another best practice is to provide regular training and development opportunities to employees. Research shows that training and development programs can enhance employee skills and knowledge, leading to higher levels of job satisfaction and well-being (Schmidt, S.W, 2007).

In conclusion, HRM in a global context centers around the role of HRM in promoting employee well-being in diverse and globalized work environments. The emerging theories on HRM, such as AMO, emphasize the need for HRM practices that align with organisational goals and objectives to achieve high performance while caring employee well-being.

  4. Employee well being is very essential to increase the productivity. If the employee are not well in physically and mentally they may be de motivated. So for the well being I think company should use the motivating factors as you are mentioned. As the rewards organization can give salary increments, bonus. Apart from that can arrange training program, wellness program and gathering events. I think as mentioned Stephen R covey there should be a physical, mental, Emotional and spiritual development for employee well being.

  5. Employee well-being refers to an employee's physical and emotional wellbeing at work. Work-life balance, job security, job satisfaction, and the ability to perform the job successfully are all issues to consider. To remain competitive, firms must prioritize employee well-being by creating healthy environments. To ensure healthy workplaces, employers must change how they approach and manage employee well-being. Investing in employee wellbeing may have far-reaching implications on a company's overall health, from increasing productivity to cutting absenteeism and burnout expenses. Great job done!
